The Amazing Aeropress Coffee Maker

A few of my friends and family are serious coffee drinkers.

Whenever they pop over I can see the anguish in their faces at having to accept a cup of instant knowing I do not own a machine, which will satisfy their level of coffee sophistication.

However all that has recently changed after reading about an inexpensive, neat, little coffee maker called Aeropress.

The numerous reviews for this nifty coffee maker are so outrageously fantastic I decided to buy one to see if they were true.

Well, I can certainly say the equipment looks extremely durable and the instructions are simple.

Put the filter paper into the strainer.

 Attach tube

Fill the spoon with deliciously smelling fresh ground coffee

Pour into tube

 Put on top of mug/cup
 Fill with hot water

Stir coffee and hot water for 10 seconds.

Press gently for 20 seconds. This is the part where it uses air pressure to improve extraction of flavour.

Add more hot water for smooth American coffee or hot milk for a yummy latte.

Well I was blown away with the outcome. The aroma is heavenly and I now have extremely happy guests who no longer scrunch up their faces when I offer them a cup. Result!

And what's more, after umpteen shots, I have finally managed to achieve photographing the hot steam. Hooray!

A terrific buy and I can definitely say that the reviews are true (and no, I am not being paid to write this!).

Now, it is time for my weekend coffee/tea and newspaper ritual. Where is that crossword?...
