This weekend I've tried a tasty, gluten free apple crumble recipe.
We always have fun picking them from the trees and laughingly try to
Ingredients
5-6 large Bramley apples, thinly sliced
100g ground almonds
100g oats
150g gluten free flour
150g butter
70g pecan nuts - chopped
100 to 200g muscavado sugar (depending on your taste)
Slice the Bramley apples thinly and put them in an oven proof bowl with 4-5 tablespoons of water and a quarter of the sugar.
Put the butter and flour into a separate bowl and rub them together between your finger tips until they start to look like breadcrumbs. Add the ground almonds and together some more.
Mix in the oats, sugar and pecan nuts.
Pour the topping onto the apple mixture and place in a hot oven for 35-40 minutes on 180 degrees fan.
Serve with custard or ice cream
A lovely comforting pudding perfect for the fresher, nippier October days.
